Late Surge Propels Team Christian-Linnehan

A final day streak pushed Christian-Linnehan over the top as they edged out Team Menton to win the February 2017 Survivor Series by two points. Winning five of seven games on the final day was enough to jump from second to first.

The champs were led by the Emsing and Adams families of Norwell. Will Emsing (.773, 7 HR, 17 RBI) led the way both offensively and defensively. He won the batting title and also led the league in RBI’s while leading the troops defensively from his shortstop position. Jackson Adams (.714, 4 HR), TJ Emsing (.667), Teddy Swanson (.563, 3 HR, 7 RBI) and Nick Emsing (.429, 3 HR, 8 RBI) were all strong two way performers. Nick Adams, Gavin Kenney and Declan Malone each chimed in in key moments.

Team Menton was in the battle right down to the wire. They were led by Brody Noonan (.737, 9 HR, 15 RBI), Jake Schulte (.737, 3 HR, 8 RBI) and the veteran brothers Nolan (.474) and Chris Swirbalus (.421, 4 HR, 8 RBI). Rounding out the squad were rookie performers Liam Connolly (5 HR, 10 RBI), Ben Raffeto, Hudson Mahon and Luke Mordas.

Team Tucker finished in third place but proved to be spoilers on the final day. Nick Tiani (.625, 3 HR), Colin McPherson (.500) and Eric Byrne (3 HR) led their attack. In supportive roles were Owen Christou, Nate Tiani, Jeremy Aylward, Colin Chisholm, Patrick Galvin and Declan McCarey.

Brody Noonan tied the all time series homerun record with nine, narrowly missing a record setter in his final at bat. Noonan was also named the tournament’s outstanding defensive player.

2017 – 2018 Survivor Series

The Survivor Series is an indoor baseball tournament played over four days for ages 10-12.

Players may enter as individuals and we’ll assign you to a team or enter as a group. Each team will have up to ten players each. The SSBC reserves the right to fill teams to the ten player limit.

The indoor games will be played on the turfed field with incrediballs and special “SSBC Niles Rules” of indoor play.

Each game begins in the “extra inning format”, top of the tenth inning, tie score. Winners survive and play the next challenger while losers move to the drill station and await their next game.

Team and individual records are kept. Batting, homerun and RBI champs are crowned along with the team Survivor Series winner.
